travels || big sur

One of the most breathtaking drives this year was winding down Hwy 1 heading south from Oakland toward Big Sur.   We must have pulled over half a dozen times within a 1/2 mile span, it was like every bend of the highway was another, finer, glimpse of the coastline.  Unfortunately, we were in a race against the fog, and by mid afternoon, we could barely see the road.  Which I had no problem photographing either... Here are a few shots from that drive:

My darling beau lived in Oakland before he finally made the trek up to the Pacific Northwest.  This more or less means that I have lost a "vacation" home in California.  But for obviously fantastic reasons I cannot be too upset.  I do have a real soft spot for California though and my next few posts will tell you (or show you) why.  Before the move I stayed in the Bay Area for about 3 weeks and we traveled down the coast to scope out breathtaking Big Sur, swanky Carmel-By-The-Sea, on beaches hidden in Laguna and finally sunny, surfy, San Diego.
